Role Description

The Business Lecturer will deliver engaging, well-structured teaching across business-related modules at foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels on-site at the Grays campus. This full-time role includes:

The lecturer will provide:

  • Academic guidance
  • Supervision of projects
  • Feedback and tutorial support
  • Contribution to curriculum development

Responsibilities also include:

  • Participation in examination boards
  • Moderation activities
  • Quality assurance
  • Involvement in student recruitment, induction, and progression support

The role requires active collaboration with colleagues to enhance learner experience, support widening participation, and maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and academic integrity.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in business disciplines (e.g., management, marketing, finance, entrepreneurship) and the ability to teach across multiple levels.
  • Proficiency in curriculum design, lesson planning, and assessment development aligned with UK higher education and awarding body standards.
  • Demonstrated skills in classroom delivery, learner engagement, and inclusive teaching practices for diverse student groups.
  • Experience in academic guidance, pastoral support, and constructive feedback to help learners progress and succeed.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes, academic regulations, and compliance within regulated higher education provision.
  • Ability to integrate real-world business examples, case studies, and applied projects into teaching to enhance employability skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in an academic team.
  • Relevant postgraduate degree in Business or a closely related field; a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, PGCHE) or equivalent is highly beneficial.
  • Experience teaching in UK or international higher education settings and working with international learners is.
