Are you passionate about Business and looking to inspire the next generation of business professionals?
As a Business Lecturer at New College Swindon, you'll join a growing Business provision and play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching across levels 1 to 5. You'll support students to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of Business, while contributing to curriculum development and the wider life of the College.
The role offers variety across Further and Higher Education, with opportunities to teach GCSE, vocational, T-Level and HND Business. There will also be opportunities to take on Programme Leadership responsibilities.
We also have a separate opportunity for an A Level Business Lecturer. If you are interested in teaching A Level Business, this separate opportunity can be explored further during the interview process.
What you'll do
- Teach Business across levels 1 to 5, supporting students to achieve their qualifications and progress to their next steps.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students' knowledge, skills and understanding.
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records and registers.
- Develop learning materials and activities that support students to apply their Business knowledge.
- Support students to develop employability skills and understand the relevance of Business to the workplace.
- Liaise with employers and external organisations to enhance curriculum delivery and provide work experience opportunities.
- Take on Programme Leadership responsibilities as required.
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement within the Business team.
- Support student recruitment activities, including Open Days and other College events.
- Contribute to the wider life of the College and work collaboratively with colleagues.

What we're looking for
- A degree in Business Studies or a related subject.
- A full Level 5 teaching qualification, or be working towards one, or a commitment to gain the qualification.
- Level 2 English and Maths.
- Strong subject knowledge and experience of teaching Business across a range of levels.
- Experience of Business delivery and Programme Leadership.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
- The ability to plan effectively, manage workload and work to strict deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to use technology effectively in the classroom.
- A supportive team approach and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students.
- A commitment to professional development and equality, diversity and inclusion.
- An understanding of T-Level qualifications is desirable.
- A Masters in Business Studies or a related subject is desirable.
