Applus+ is continuing to grow and diversify across Northern Europe, and we are looking for an experienced leader to help us develop and scale our capability in key markets Power & Electrical.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who brings deep technical, operational and commercial knowledge of Power & Electrical services, combined with a strong understanding of the Testing, Inspection & Certification (TICC) environment.
You will have the opportunity to shape the proposition, develop customer relationships, build technical capability and create sustainable growth, supported by the scale, expertise and international network of Applus+.
The Role
As Business Line Leader, you will have full P&L responsibility and will lead the development and growth of the Power & Electrical business. You will:

- Develop the market and commercial strategy, identifying priority customers, opportunities and routes to growth.
- Focus initially on the UK market, whilst expanding into Northern Europe.
- Build and expand relationships with clients across the Power & Electrical sector.
- Develop and broaden our technical service offering in line with market demand.
- Build the technical and operational capability required to deliver those services, including appropriate standards, accreditations, competence and delivery models.
- Lead from the front commercially while building a high-performing team and scalable operation.
- Develop the appropriate delivery ecosystem, including specialist partners and subcontractors where required.
- Work collaboratively across Applus+ to leverage existing technical, operational and commercial capability.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
This role requires genuine sector depth. We are not looking for a generalist commercial leader who can learn the market.
You will ideally have:
- A strong TICC background, within Power, Electrical, Energy or related technical services.
- Deep technical and practical knowledge of areas such as:
- Power Markets
- Transmission & Distribution
- Power Generation & Renewable Energy
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Utilities
- Industrial Electrical Infrastructure
- Substations & Grid Infrastructure
- Electrical Service Capability
- Engineering Services
- Technical Assurance QA/QC Inspection
- Commissioning
- Electrical Inspection & Testing
- High Voltage (HV) Systems
- Medium & Low Voltage (MV/LV) Systems
- Protection & Control Systems
- Asset Integrity and Asset Condition Assessment (inc Predictive & Preventative Maintenance)
- Electrical Safety Compliance

You will have a track record of developing technical services and building delivery capability, not simply selling an established portfolio.
- Strong commercial and business development experience, with the ability to identify opportunities, open doors and convert them into profitable growth.
- Experience leading operational teams and developing technical competence.
- Full P&L or significant commercial leadership experience.
- The credibility and energy to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels, collaborating across the organisation while leading from the front.
