Job overview:

We’re looking for a dedicated Business Manager to support our CIO and technology leadership team on a 12-month FTC. You’ll oversee financial management, governance and risk, driving operational efficiency and compliance across technology, data, and AI functions. Your expertise will drive accountability, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure compliance, as you coordinate reporting, stakeholder engagement, vendor relationships, and governance activities. Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and cost control for the CIO’s portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor risks related to technology and data initiatives, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Lead the monthly operational risk governance forum, including preparation of materials and reporting outputs.
  • Coordinate team operating cadence, including meetings, reporting, and performance tracking to ensure delivery and accountability.
  • Assist in developing, communicating, and executing strategic plans for technology, data, and AI functions aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, partners, and service providers to ensure contractual and service level agreements are met.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve operational processes, team workflows, and delivery models.
  • Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and documentation for senior management and board-level governance.
  • Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Work arrangements:

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week away from home, moving three days a week from 1 December 2026. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Your skills & experience:

  • Previous experience in similar roles within technology, data, or AI functions, within the insurance sector advantageous.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost management, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in risk management, compliance, and regulatory considerations relevant to health insurance and technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective team governance and collaboration.
  • Sound understanding of project portfolio management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work strategically while efficiently managing day-to-day operations.
