Job Details

We are looking for a highly skilled individual to be part of the Primary Business Manager team, who is passionate about improving life chances for all through commitment to leading change and improvement that ensures positives outcomes for our children and young people.

As a manager in Fife you will be responsible for supporting a cluster of primary, nursery and special schools, supporting the strategic direction of the schools, implementing and pursuing the objectives set in policies, and for contributing to the development of a self-improving system across the education community and beyond.

The Business Manager role will manage functions within schools to ensure a high-quality support service, strategic planning, and accountability in the context of statutory, council and school policy. To participate as a member of Education Service Directorate Operations Team, working as a critical business conduit between the school, the directorate and other services and partners.

Qualification, Registration and Skill Requirements

  • Educated to SCQF Level 9, which includes a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline e.g. Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Administration.
  • Considerable experience within a relevant environment, in a senior or managerial role with budget and management responsibilities to enable you to provide effective advice and support to the Headteacher.
  • You are required to have high levels of interpersonal skills and abilities which will enable you to contribute to the leadership and management of the school community, both at strategic and operational levels, to ensure continuous improvement.
