Business Consultant / Manager - Data Mesh & Enablement (London)
We are representing a leading global consulting firm that acts as a trusted partner to the world’s most prestigious financial institutions.
They are seeking a highly capable Business Consultant / Manager to act as a Tech-Enablement Enabler within a cutting-edge Data Mesh environment. This is a business-focused, hands-on role dedicated to Business Adaptation—bridging the gap between technical data architecture and practical business utility. Operating as an empowering enabler rather than a traditional people manager, the successful candidate will help a Tier 1 banking client surface, design, and implement high-value Data Products within a robust risk, tooling, and governance framework.
The Role
As a Tech-Enablement Enabler, you will sit within a sophisticated Data Mesh ecosystem, helping the business adapt to and leverage modern cloud-based data platforms. You will not be managing large teams; instead, your focus is on driving the adoption and governance of "data as a product."
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Product Enablement: Collaborate with business lines to identify, surface, design, and implement Data Products that solve real-world banking challenges.
- Business Adaptation: Support and guide various business functions through the adaptation of new data structures, helping them move from legacy platforms into a modern Data Mesh framework.
- Tooling, Governance & Risk: Navigate and implement data governance, compliance, and risk controls around Data Products, ensuring alignment with both banking regulations and internal data policies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the critical "Enabler" and translator between business stakeholders, data owners, risk officers, and technical data engineering teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Banking / Risk Background: Foundational experience operating within highly regulated environments (such as retail banking, wealth management, or corporate finance), with a clear grasp of data risk and governance.
