Physiotherapy Matters Limited (PML) is a leading provider of private musculoskeletal (MSK) and occupational health physiotherapy (OHP) services in the Northeast of England. Role Description
The Business Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Newcastle upon Tyne, responsible for overseeing the operational and commercial performance of PML’s services. Day-to-day duties include managing clinic operations, optimizing schedules and resource allocation, and ensuring service delivery meets quality, regulatory, and safety standards. The role involves financial management such as budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and supporting growth initiatives with existing and new corporate clients. The Business Manager will lead and support multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with clinical leads, and drive process improvements to enhance patient and client experience. Qualifications
- Strong business management, operations, and organizational skills, with experience overseeing service delivery in healthcare or related sectors.
- Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Leadership and people management skills, including team coordination, performance management, and the ability to build a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Client relationship and stakeholder management skills, with experience in account management, contract management, and service-level monitoring.
- Process improvement and problem-solving skills, including experience with workflow optimization, quality assurance, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage clinical teams, corporate clients, and internal stakeholders clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency with office productivity tools and management systems; familiarity with healthcare or occupational health software is beneficial.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in business management, healthcare management, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience in physiotherapy, occupational health, or wider healthcare services is an advantage, along with an understanding of MSK and OHP service environments.
- Ability to work on-site in Newcastle upon Tyne, manage competing priorities, and adapt to a dynamic, patient- and client-focused organization.
