THE OPPORTUNITY

SII UK is seeking a highly motivated BUSINESS MANAGER to join our rapidly growing Belfast office. This role will play a key part in expanding SII UK's presence across Northern Ireland and the North of England, supporting both business growth and talent acquisition activities.

The successful candidate will build strong customer relationships, develop new business opportunities, support the attraction of engineering talent, and contribute to the continued growth of our Engineering and Technology services portfolio.

Frequent travel will be required to customer sites across the region, as well as regular visits to SII UK's London office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute business growth plans across Northern Ireland and the North of England.
  • Identify, qualify and secure new business opportunities within existing and prospective customers.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders at senior decision-making levels.
  • Act as a key customer focal point, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Build, present and negotiate service proposals with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong networks within key target accounts and industry sectors.
  • Work closely with delivery and technical teams to build solutions that address customer challenges and strategic objectives.
  • Support account growth, turnover and profitability objectives.
  • Represent SII UK at customer meetings, networking events, trade shows and industry conferences.
  • Support the development of strategic partnerships across industry, academia and regional stakeholders.
  • Support the recruitment and attraction of engineering and technology professionals aligned to business growth plans.
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to build talent pipelines across Northern Ireland, North of England and other regions
  • Support candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing and feedback processes.
  • Develop relationships with universities, training providers and professional institutions to attract future talent.
  • Work with HR and Compliance teams to ensure efficient onboarding of new employees and contractors.
  • Support workforce planning activities to align capability with customer demand.
  • Promote SII UK's employer brand within the regional engineering and technology community.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proven experience in business development, account management, recruitment or talent acquisition within engineering, technology or consultancy environments.
  • Strong commercial awareness with an ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Experience building and maintaining customer relationships at multiple organisational levels.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong networking and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and growth-focused environment.
  • Understanding of engineering, technology or professional services delivery models.
  • Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems, recruitment platforms and Microsoft Office applications.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Based from SII UK's Belfast office.
  • Frequent travel to customer sites across Northern Ireland and the North of England.
  • Regular travel to SII UK's London office.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for business growth and talent development.
  • Eligibility to gain UK Security Clearance
