Senior Business Development Manager – Midlands

Lead Regional Growth for a Market-Leading Infrastructure Solutions Business

A highly successful and expanding infrastructure services organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to lead growth across the Midlands region.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for delivering regional sales growth, developing and coaching a team of business development professionals, and building senior-level relationships with major developers, housebuilders, consultants, and key stakeholders.

The Opportunity

Reporting to a senior sales leader, you will be responsible for developing and executing the regional sales strategy, identifying new opportunities, leading complex bids, and ensuring consistent delivery against ambitious growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Leadership

  • Take ownership of regional sales targets and territory development plans.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Business Development Managers and Executives.
  • Drive high-performance sales activity, pipeline generation and forecasting accuracy.
  • Recruit, mentor and develop talent as the regional team grows.
  • Collaborate with technical, commercial and operational teams to improve win rates and customer experience.

Business Development

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across the Midlands region.
  • Develop relationships with senior decision-makers within target organisations.
  • Create account development plans and uncover opportunities early in project lifecycles.
  • Build strategic relationships with developers, consultants and project stakeholders.

Sales & Bid Leadership

  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities from qualification through to contract award.
  • Work closely with technical and commercial teams to develop winning solutions and proposals.
  • Present, negotiate and close contracts with customers.
  • Ensure successful handover of projects and support ongoing account development.

About You

You are an ambitious sales leader with a proven ability to generate new business, develop high-performing teams, and manage complex sales processes.

Essential Experience

  • Experience selling into construction, infrastructure, utilities, engineering, building products or specification-led markets.
  • Demonstrable track record of winning new business and opening strategic accounts from scratch
  • Experience managing and coaching successful sales teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasting and CRM systems.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
