Business Manager – Financial & Commercial Operations
Award-Winning Legal Aid Organisation | UK Offices | Hybrid/Flexible Working
Location: Hybrid/Flexible Working (with travel to offices as required)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
This is a key role within the organisation, working closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance, operational efficiency, and business growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and commercially minded professional to play a key role in the strategic and operational management of a well-established and purpose-driven law firm.
The Role
As Business Manager, you will work closely with the Director and senior management team to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the firm. You will have broad responsibility across the financial and operational side of the organisation, providing senior leadership with the insight and support needed to make informed business decisions.
You will:
- Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the firm.
- Support the implementation of strategic and business growth plans.
- Develop and improve operational systems, processes, and efficiencies.
- Produce management information and performance reports.
- Support financial planning, budgeting, and operational performance monitoring.
- Assist with Legal Aid Agency contract compliance and reporting requirements.
- Support SRA compliance, risk management, and regulatory obligations.
- Manage office operations, facilities, and supplier relationships.
- Oversee HR processes, recruitment, onboarding, and staff development initiatives.
- Lead and support business improvement and technology projects.
- Work collaboratively with Heads of Department and support teams to achieve organisational objectives.

About You
We are looking for someone who can combine strong operational leadership with excellent organisational and people management skills.
You may currently be working as a Business Manager, Finance Manager, Operations Manager, Commercial Manager, or Practice Manager and be looking for a broader, more influential position.
