Working Pattern

Part-time, term-time only (working for 40 weeks per year plus 6.2 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

About the School

Guestling-Bradshaw Church of England Primary School is a delightful primary school with 205 children on roll, organised into seven classes. Situated in beautiful countryside between the historic towns of Hastings and Rye in East Sussex, our school provides a caring and inspiring environment in which children and staff can thrive. The Role

We are seeking to appoint a motivated, forward-thinking School Business Manager to join our dedicated team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a strategic role in the continued improvement journey of our school. Working alongside a driven and ambitious leadership team, you will help ensure the very best outcomes for our children, families and wider school community.

As School Business Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the school, including:

  • Finance and budget management
  • Administration and office systems – Arbor Finance knowledge desirable
  • Updating the Single Central Record (SCR) in line with statutory safeguarding requirements
  • Procurement and contract management
  • Human resources and personnel administration
  • Premises management
  • Health and safety management
  • Data protection and GDPR management

In addition, you will provide administrative support in the school office and contribute strategically to the leadership and development of the school.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Possesses excellent financial and business management abilities
  • Communicates effectively with staff, parents, governors and external agencies
  • Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Can manage confidential information appropriately
  • Is committed to supporting the school's Christian values and vision
