Business Manager

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Business Manager to work closely with the Managing Director, helping drive the successful delivery of strategic priorities across a diverse and fast-paced business function that includes Operations, Claims and Risk Management.

This is a varied role offering exposure to senior stakeholders, high-profile projects and key business initiatives. You will act as a trusted partner to the MD, ensuring priorities progress effectively, communications are managed efficiently and strategic objectives are delivered.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading and coordinating strategic projects and operational initiatives on behalf of the MD.
  • Managing priorities, actions and business plans to ensure successful delivery of key objectives.
  • Preparing reports, presentations, briefings and materials for leadership meetings and governance forums.
  • Building strong relationships with senior leaders, colleagues and external partners.
  • Managing and filtering communications, ensuring key information is handled effectively and confidentially.
  • Driving projects from conception through to implementation, overcoming challenges and delivering results.

What we're looking for

  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and project management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business reporting tools.
  • Insurance sector experience is advantageous, but not essential.

You are a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, results-driven environment. You are adaptable, resilient and comfortable working across different business areas, building credibility quickly and collaborating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You bring energy, ownership and a "can-do" attitude, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
