Business Manager, Office of the CFO

Make the market better. It starts with you.

Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace. We bring together leading risk takers to advance global progress.

We’re looking for a Business Manager, Office of the CFO to help turn Finance priorities into action. Based in London, you’ll work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the Finance Leadership Team to support strategic delivery, effective governance, and clear decision-making across the function.

This is a role for someone who can bring structure, pace and judgement to a complex environment. You’ll connect people, priorities and decisions, helping the CFO focus on the work that matters most.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be a trusted partner to the CFO, providing high-quality executive support, operational leadership and strategic coordination.

You’ll help manage the business rhythm for Finance, support leadership meetings, track actions, prepare briefings, and make sure priorities move forward.

You’ll also play an important role in governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement, making sure the right people have the right information at the right time.

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Support Finance business planning, tracking progress against key priorities, milestones and objectives.
  • Coordinate the Finance Leadership Team’s meetings, priorities, actions and follow-ups.
  • Oversee governance activity, including ExCo, Board, Council and committee actions.
  • Prepare clear briefings, reports, presentations and communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Build trusted relationships across the Corporation and the Lloyd’s market.
  • Lead or coordinate cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of the CFO.
  • Support risk, compliance and regulatory coordination so key commitments are met.
  • Turn complex information into clear insight and practical recommendations.
  • Find better ways of working across Finance, helping the function operate with focus and pace.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
