BUSINESS MANAGER – PRIVATE CARE SERVICES
LOCATION: (Hybrid) Accessible via Lothians, Borders, S. Lanarkshire and D&G
Compass Associates are exclusively supporting a leading care provider in the appointment of a Business Manager to drive commercial growth in a newly created role designed for a commercially focused individual who can build strong relationships, develop referral networks and identify new opportunities across private care services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing long-term growth within the region, with future scope to support wider commercial development across surrounding areas.
THE ROLE
As Business Manager, you will be responsible for generating sustainable private business growth, working closely with operational teams and senior leadership to increase awareness, referrals and service opportunities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing new business opportunities across private care services
- Building strong referral networks with healthcare professionals, hospitals, discharge teams, solicitors, wealth managers, and community partners
- Developing long-term relationships with key stakeholders and professional networks
- Supporting growth across domiciliary and live-in care services
- Working alongside operational teams to ensure new opportunities translate into high-quality, sustainable services
- Managing the journey from initial enquiry through to successful service development
- Identifying market opportunities and supporting regional growth plans
- Representing the organisation within the local community and professional networks

This is a highly autonomous role, requiring a visible presence across the region and someone who enjoys building relationships, creating opportunities, and making a measurable commercial impact.
ABOUT YOU
This opportunity will suit a commercially minded individual who brings:
- A proven track record of business development, relationship management, or commercial growth
- Strong networking skills with the ability to build trusted partnerships
- Experience developing referral relationships and generating new opportunities
- Confidence working autonomously while collaborating with operational teams
- A genuine understanding of relationship-led service delivery
- The ability to balance commercial objectives with delivering safe, high-quality care
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
Experience within private healthcare, home care, business development, or relationship-led services would be advantageous.
Candidates from outside of the care sector will also be considered where they can demonstrate strong commercial ability, values alignment, and experience building successful partnerships.
LOCATION AND WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
Suitable candidates can easily access services, with viable routes through the Lothians, Borders, S. Lanarkshire, and D&G with hybrid flexibility.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake regular field-based working, developing relationships across the region.

PACKAGE
- Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
- Bonus scheme linked to sustainable growth and service development
- Full benefits package
CANDIDATE SUITABILITY NOTE
This role requires proven commercial, business development, or relationship management experience.
