Business Manager - Life Sciences Recruitment

Oxford | Hybrid Working (3-4 days in office, 1-2 days from home)
£40,000 - £45,000 + £2,000 Car Allowance + Uncapped Commission
Full Time | Permanent | Monday-Friday | 37.5 Hours per Week

Build a Life Sciences division. Lead a team. Shape the future.

If you're a successful recruiter with experience in the scientific or life sciences market and you've been waiting for the opportunity to build something of your own, this could be the role you've been looking for. Reed is investing heavily in its Oxford operation, and we're looking for a Business Manager to drive the expansion of our Life Sciences division across the South.

This isn't a role where you're inheriting a large team and maintaining the status quo. This is a genuine opportunity to establish, grow and lead a specialist recruitment business with the backing, brand and infrastructure of one of the UK's most recognised recruitment companies.

The Opportunity

You'll initially manage one Senior Consultant and then focus on developing both the client and candidate base across the Life Sciences market while running your own successful billing desk. The plan is for you to quickly bring an additional recruiter into the team, with ambitious growth plans to scale the division to four/five heads within the next 12 months.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
