This role contributes to Starbucks UK's success by managing a portfolio of licensed accounts, delivering profitable sales and new store growth, and strengthening brand standards and customer experience.
Working closely with the Senior Manager, Director Channel Licensing and licensee leaders, the Business Manager owns account performance across operating income, new store targets and customer experience. The role combines commercial insight, joint business planning, portfolio development and in-store observation to turn data into action and build mutually beneficial licensee relationships.

- Acting as the principal relationship lead for licensee counterparts and ensuring Joint Business Plan initiatives are delivered to agreed timescales.
- Leading account business planning, tailoring the approach to licensee and brand needs, and supporting the Senior Manager and Director Chanel Licensing to shape the wider planning process.
- Creating portfolio growth plans through market mapping, with detailed 12-month actions and a broader three-year view covering new stores, refurbishments and lease renewals.
- Agreeing implementation plans for Starbucks initiatives and using store visits and operational insight to improve execution, product quality and business results.
- Prioritising account deliverables while supporting the Senior Manager and wider Licensing team as business needs require.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
