Business Manager - Wealth Operations

We are looking for a Business Manager to support the Global Head of Wealth Operations in the leadership, planning and governance of the Wealth Operations function.

Acting as a key partner to the Global Head of Wealth Operations, the role will help connect strategy, business performance and operational delivery, ensuring the function remains focused on its priorities while establishing several core management capabilities, including:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), including oversight of departmental budgets, forecasts and financial performance.
  • Workforce Management (WFM), developing demand and capacity planning capabilities to support resource optimisation and operational effectiveness.
  • Management Information (MI), including individual and service performance reporting, KPI frameworks, early warning indicators and operational insight to drive efficiencies.
  • Governance and Executive Reporting, lead on executive reporting relating to Wealth Management Operations for internal and external Group governance forums and senior executive committees.
  • People and Culture initiatives, help build a world class culture across Wealth Ops, including taking a lead on developing a future skills programme, talent development, engagement and change culture, organisational effectiveness, plus support on group initiatives such as Speak Up and Diversity and Inclusion.

The role will work closely with senior colleagues and partners across Finance, People and Culture, Risk and Controls, Transformation and Strategy, as well as other Business Managers across the organisation. The successful candidate will need to utilize the wider team and network to influence, collaborate and drive outcomes through strong partnerships.

The Business Manager will also act as a trusted adviser and Chief of Staff to the Global Head of Wealth Operations, helping shape strategic priorities, coordinate leadership activities and drive forward actions arising from senior executive discussions and business initiatives. This will involve ensuring leadership attention remains focused on the most important strategic and operational priorities, while providing support on a wide range of business, transformation and operational topics as they emerge.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of running a global operations function, including strategy, financial management, workforce planning, risk and controls, governance, transformation and organisational leadership. It is ideally suited to an individual seeking broad business management experience and looking to build a pathway into future operational, transformation or business leadership roles.

We are looking for someone with energy, curiosity and a desire to learn. A collaborative mindset, strong organisational skills and a willingness to take ownership of complex challenges will be key to success in the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and support reporting of Wealth Operations costs, including plan, actual and forecast expenditure.
  • Help develop workforce management insight, including demand, capacity, productivity and service trends.
  • Produce management information covering KPIs, service performance, risk indicators and operational issues.
  • Coordinate reporting for senior governance forums and leadership meetings.
  • Support the Global Head of Wealth Operations with agenda planning, meeting actions and strategic priorities.
  • Work with Finance, HR, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Transformation and Operations to gather updates and progress actions.
  • Support oversight of operational risk, regulatory updates, RCAs and outstanding actions.
  • Help improve the quality and consistency of reporting, planning and governance.

Experience and Skills

  • Experience in Financial Services, Wealth Management, Asset Management or a related environment.
  • Ability to analyse information and identify practical recommendations.
  • Experience producing reporting, MI or business performance analysis.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Project coordination or project management experience.
  • Good Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Power BI or similar reporting experience would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of operational risk, regulatory requirements or workforce planning would be beneficial.
