About The FCA And Team

We regulate financial services firms in the UK, to keep financial markets fair, thriving and effective. By joining us, you’ll play a key part in protecting consumers, driving economic growth, and shaping the future of UK finance services.

The Authorisations Division ensures the firms and individuals who apply to us to be authorised or approved understand how we test they will comply with our regulation. We use Authorisation to help deliver our public offer, and as a tool to protect consumers from the harm that can be caused by bad conduct in the financial services industry.

The Register and Authorisations Services (R&AS) department builds confidence in Authorisations' decision making, systems, processes, data and platforms. Our integrated, high-quality services enable effective determinations, and a strong firm and consumer offer by providing operational rigour, insights and capability development, managing policy, frameworks and process change and improving our data, digital products and technology.

  • Work with colleagues across different teams to understand operational issues, identify themes and support practical improvements
  • Make sure actions, risks, decisions and dependencies are clearly owned, tracked, progressed and followed through
  • Use sound judgement to prioritise activity, spot where issues need attention and escalate matters appropriately
  • Support governance forums, including preparing updates and papers, coordinating inputs and ensuring clear follow-up on agreed actions
  • Support the division’s approach to risk and controls by helping teams identify, assess and manage operational risks in a proportionate way

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
