Business Operations Intern (Compliance & Payments) — EXFI Onboarding, EXFI — Canggu, Bali

EXFI Onboarding · EXFI · On-site, Canggu, Bali · 4–6 months · Melbourne as the track after

What does it take to onboard a company across sixteen currency accounts without losing a single payment to a name mismatch? This is a Business Operations Intern building the onboarding and reconciliation layer for the EXFI Onboarding project at EXFI. EXFI gives globally operating companies one multi-currency account with SWIFT and SEPA payment rails, competitive FX, and intercompany settlement. Payment services are provided by Gemba Finance Ltd, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN: 804853); EXFI is Gemba’s white-label distribution partner. The job is to make cross-border money move without losing the paper trail, and you leave with the proof employers hire on: a real onboarding file, a real reconciliation sheet, and a dashboard built under live payment pressure. Everyone has a degree. Almost nobody has proof.

What you build

Not a task list. The thing you build.

  • You build the onboarding file for a new multi-currency account, from first KYC document to live payment rail.
  • A daily treasury reconciliation across 16+ currency accounts, with inbound and outbound payments matched to the ledger.
  • The FX exposure sheet by pair — 0.70% on majors, 0.90% on minors — with hedging opportunities flagged.
  • You are on the hook for the dashboard that shows every account, balance, and payment in one view.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The bar

  • You have reconciled a multi-currency ledger outside coursework, and you can name the mismatch you caught.
  • You have assembled a client onboarding folder under a deadline, with the missing document flagged before it stalled the file.
  • The dashboard reads clean to another person without you in the room.
  • A compliance question stays on the table until the answer is clean enough to defend.

Who this is for

Recent graduates in finance, economics, or accounting who want hands-on exposure to a regulated cross-border payments business. Work until the ledger explains itself. Stay calm when a payment lands in the wrong currency and a client is waiting. Read the compliance requirement before drafting the response. If you can give this work two years, the rest compounds.

Where you do it — and why here

Thirty years building companies — New York, London, Tokyo, the Valley — and then it stopped mattering where the work happened. So the program runs on-site in Canggu, and Epic Solutions PT runs it. A modern company costs twelve people and a toolchain — so being wrong six times a year is part of how we build. The campus is 4,000 sqm, and the people who run the companies are on it every day. The work happens in the room where the payment flow is reconciled, not from a distance. Monday reset / Friday ship — send what you built. This is on-site, one fixed cohort, not remote work. The glamour comes later; first the ledger is clean. The attention is engineered: no timezone lag, no handoff noise, no waiting for a reply to clear. What this location buys is attention, not a view.

What happens after

Seventeen interns have moved into full-time roles across the group. For EXFI, the paid destination is Melbourne. The destination role and its terms are agreed before you commit, never after. Step one is this internship; paid work is the destination for the ones who stay. Earned, not guaranteed.

Terms

  • Unpaid under Indonesian law.
  • A room is available on campus — rent paid by you.
  • Epic Solutions PT hosts the on-site program and assists with the C22B internship visa process; the visa fee is yours.
  • Daily lunch on us.
  • Starting September.

Questions about the fit or the timeline? Tell us — we’ll talk you through how the program actually runs.

Requirements

  • A degree in finance, economics, accounting, or equivalent — you have proven you can finish something.
  • Drive Claude Code, Hermes, or Codex every day and catch what the AI gets wrong.
  • A thing you built that nobody asked you to build.
  • On-site for 4–6 months.

How to apply

Apply via the LinkedIn application field. Submit your CV and the repository.

A finished CV was never the point. What counts is a thing you’ve built and the drive to build the next one. That is who we are looking for.
