Business Operations Manager
Location: Leeds (office based)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Chatterbug is an ambitious social enterprise delivering speech and language therapy services to children and young people. As we scale our services, partnerships and digital offer, we are investing in the operational foundations needed to grow well and deliver consistently.
This is a genuinely autonomous, hands-on management role for someone who enjoys building and embedding better ways of working. You will bring order to complexity, obtain the information needed to make sound decisions and follow work through to completion. You will report to the CEO, line manage the admin team and work closely with clinical leadership. The role does not make clinical decisions, but ensures that operational systems enable safe, effective and financially sustainable delivery.
Your priorities
- Establish a reliable weekly view of delivery, therapist capacity, invoicing, aged debt and key risks.
- Create clear ownership, deadlines and follow-through across operational activity.
- Reduce unnecessary dependency on senior leaders for routine decisions, updates and problem-solving.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
