What you will be doing: As an Employee Relations (ER) Advisor Specialist you will work as a trusted advisor with line managers across the business, providing advice and guidance on UK employee relations matters in accordance with our policies and procedures, to ensure a fair and consistent approach. Key responsibilities will include: Guidance and Compliance: Provide expert guidance to management on employee relations matters including disciplinary, performance, grievance and flexible working, ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies. Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into intricate, HR-related employee grievances and ethics cases, resolving conflicts and recommending appropriate actions. Consultation: Manage consultation actions such as TUPE and redundancy consultation (both collective and individual consultation). Terminations: Handle sensitive, in-depth, involuntary terminations. Training: Deliver training programs for managers on employee relations topics, such as conflict resolution and effective communication. Policy coaching for managers on performance management, disciplinary and flexible working process. What you will need: Conflict Resolution/Negotiation: Robust ability to mediate disputes and negotiate agreements effectively. Knowledge of Employment Law: Strong in-depth understanding of UK employment law. Problem Solving: You approach challenges with a solution-focused mindset, able to identify issues and develop effective solutions. Empathy: Ability to understand and share the feelings of others, fostering a supportive work environment. Active Listening: Excellent listening skills to fully understand and address employee concerns. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively. Organisational Abilities: Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently. Strategic Oversight: Ability to provide strategic direction and oversight in employee relations matters. Microsoft Office Proficiency: Showing proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and Word. Confidentiality: Demonstrating an ability to work with confidential information. Attention to Detail: Attention to detail, analytical/reasoning, interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Cross-Functional Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Data Analysis: Ability to draw accurate conclusions from raw data. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interface with all levels of employees. Flexibility: Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment. Judgment and Business Acumen: Sound judgment, business acumen, influencing skills, and proactive approach to effectively address sensitive employee issues.
