About the Role
This role can be based from LUC's Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Manchester or Sheffield office.
As a Business Performance Analyst, you will support the business by turning operational, quality and environmental data into clear insight, reporting and practical improvements. Working closely with the Quality & Environmental Manager, you will help strengthen how LUC captures, analyses and communicates performance information, while also providing support to the ongoing operation of our ISO-certified quality management system (QMS) and environmental management system (EMS).
This is an early career level role with scope to grow, suited to someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, improving processes and presenting information clearly, while also building experience in management systems within a professional services environment.
A core part of the role will be data acquisition, validation, analysis and reporting. You will help maintain key monitoring datasets, develop dashboards and management information, and support the production of timely, accurate performance reporting against annual targets and wider business objectives. The role will also contribute to improving the accessibility, quality and usefulness of information, helping teams across the company make better-informed decisions.
Alongside this analytical focus and operational reporting, you will provide day-to-day support for QMS and EMS processes, including helping maintain core management system documentation, supporting internal audits, assisting with external certification audits, and contributing to continual improvement activity. You will help ensure that the databases and information sources which underpin the QMS and EMS remain accurate, reliable and fit for purpose. You will also provide support to colleagues across the business on QMS and EMS-related processes, systems and reporting requirements, including inputs to tender documentation where needed.
The role may also contribute to improving the way LUC uses business support systems and digital tools, particularly where these can enhance reporting, monitoring, workflow efficiency or management insight. This could include helping develop dashboards, improving data structures, and identifying practical opportunities to streamline how information is collected and used.
You will be part of a friendly and collaborative team, working alongside LUC’s ecologists, historic environment specialists, spatial analysts, land use planners and landscape designers, all of whom are committed to creating sustainable solutions and delivering impact.
It also includes the opportunity to share and participate actively in the management and ownership of the business through the Employee Ownership Trust, which places full ownership of the company with the employees.

The role is based in any of LUC’s offices in Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Manchester or Sheffield. We work in a hybrid model with people being in the office a minimum of two days per week. There will also be travel required to visit sites, client offices and other office locations.
A full-time role is based on 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). However, LUC has a strong track record in flexible working, and we have been recognised for our flexible working culture, so we are happy to discuss a range of flexible working options for this role including part time hours (minimum 30 hours per week) if desired.
Salary: £26,250 - £30,000 FTE, Depending on experience, (plus London allowance if applicable)
Experience and Qualifications
We are looking for someone with strong analytical capability, sound digital skills and a practical, organised approach to turning data into useful insight. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across multiple systems, maintaining accurate datasets, and producing reports and analysis that support better decision-making capabilities across the business.
Essential
- Demonstrable experience of acquiring, organising, managing and analysing data accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to turn data into clear reporting, insight and practical recommendations.
- Strong IT literacy, with confidence working across multiple software platforms and business systems.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with collaboration and document platforms such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Strong numerical, reasoning and organisational skills, supported by relevant qualifications and/or practical work experience.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail while working to deadlines.
- The ability to explain information clearly and concisely, and work constructively with colleagues across different business areas.
- An interest in process improvement and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve the quality, accessibility and usefulness of information.
- An interest in supporting the development of quality and environmental performance reporting within the business
Desirable
- Experience of developing dashboards, reports or management information to support business performance.
- Experience of using advanced Excel features, or similar tools, to improve efficiency and solve problems in data management and analysis.
- Experience of working with business systems, monitoring databases, document management systems or operational software.
- Experience of supporting quality management systems, environmental management systems or related audit/compliance/reporting processes.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
- Previous experience in a consultancy or professional services environment.
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Knowledge of environmental practice, sustainability reporting, quality management principles, or related business improvement disciplines.
