Forecast & Pricing

Pricing

  • In charge of Competitors' prices and dynamic "solutions" surveying and price suggestions, both structure and value.
  • Enable dynamic pricing implementation with a back-to-back block + spot supply contract (SEE) and the corresponding front customer notification and price adjustments enablement (Solutions).

Forecast

  • Manages long term (monthly time base) and short term (hourly time base) forecast of TCSUK affiliate, to minimize Day Ahead (DA) and Intraday imbalances costs.
  • Analyze and support implementation of new metering strategy (smart meter) through a global approach: forecast, supply and pricing.
  • Support innovative products as dynamic pricing, static and smart load balancing, demand response and associated retributions and sharing with stakeholders.

P&L Management

  • Evaluate the merits of dynamic pricing and “plunge events” whereby sales prices can be flash discounted when spot are low, to generate positive volume elasticity whilst maintaining unit margins.
  • Evaluate the merits of load shedding through the power platform and its different use cases and revenue streams (peer to peer with supplier for instance).
  • Active support to financial controlling with regard to energy reconciliation and LTP/BU exercises (including electricity consumption and margin).
  • CPO Profitability reporting and follow up on margins on electricity: Assists with explanations of margin on supply of electricity versus indexation if any.
  • Analyse and challenge RGPUK's invoice in all aspects: current period, previous period catch-up, grid costs path-throughs and catch-up.
  • Support and contribute to global supply Price Risk Monitoring data management (SEE solutions implementation) and Data metering (TCSUK solutions implementation). Ensure forecast sharing monthly basis to SEE.
  • Interact with RGPUK (supplier) to analyze market orientation (grid cost revaluation, etc).
  • Power and capacity cost optimization: Establish balance between sites power connection (and yield) maximization, based on DNO's capacity cost structures (banding, condition to upgrade / downgrade access to capacity) and power capping with lower capacity costs.

Supply (monitoring, under SEE’s responsibility)

  • Follows-up SEE’s supply strategy execution: Daily spot and future power market evaluation for hedging decisions.
  • Represents TCSUK in validating SEE’s fixed-price bids to buy blocks on futures markets (CAL, Q, M) within the framework of a previously fixed mandate between TCSUK and SEE.
  • Update TCSUK power tracker to monitor current cumulated electricity cost.
  • Support SEE in contract preparation and risk premiums (shaping, balancing) negotiation of supply contracts, and in procurement strategies evaluation (such as decentralized or utility-scale PPAs).
  • Follows-up SEE in monitoring bio ticket valuation and registration if any.
  • Monitors regulatory matters with SEE and RGPUK, contributes to lobbying, leveraging ChargeUK industry association.

Context and environment

  • International and multidisciplinary environment, consisting of complex, heterogeneous and constantly changing electricity markets.
  • The EV market is developing with a lot of regulatory uncertainties / customer habits.
  • Complex and highly interfaced organization (internal M&S branch, GRP branch and third-party suppliers).
  • Need to develop a supply and electricity price risk culture within the MS Branch.

Purposes

  • Contributes to the definition of the business pricing (to TCSUK’s customers) and electricity supply strategies to ensure volumes and margin optimization.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders within TCSUK and SEE to streamline pricing and energy management strategies, ensuring efficient communication.
  • Supports the transformation of the MS towards electric mobility by making pricing and supplies more flexible, testing price elasticity and controlling costs.
  • Exercises competitive intelligence and acts to maintain the competitiveness of the activity.
  • Contributes to making the EV BU a benchmark player in its decarbonization ambitions and innovative solutions for its customers.

Experience Required

  • BAC+ 5 in a technical or economic discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience required.
  • Knowledge of the electricity market and EV Business.
  • Global strategic vision and strong negotiation skills (internal/external).
  • Very good analytical skills and interpersonal skills, comfortable in transversal relationships.
  • Fluency in English is a must, French is a plus.
