Business Rates Surveyor
Greater Manchester
£60-65,000 + Car Allowance
A highly respected commercial property investor and developer is looking to appoint an experienced Business Rates Surveyor to lead the business rates strategy across its multi-billion-pound property portfolio.
This is a high-profile role offering the opportunity to influence property strategy, identify significant cost-saving opportunities, and work closely with senior stakeholders across Property, Development, and Asset Management.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading business rates strategy across the portfolio.
- Advising on acquisitions, developments, refurbishments, and vacant space.
- Identifying and delivering business rates savings, appeals, and empty property mitigation strategies.
- Managing negotiations with the VOA and local authorities.
- Reviewing assessments and the impact of revaluations.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and VOA regulations.
- Working closely with Property, Valuation, and Legal teams.

About You
We’re looking for an MRICS-qualified professional with 3–10 years’ experience in business rates, commercial property valuation, or a related field.

You’ll have strong technical knowledge, experience with Valuation Tribunal matters, and a proven track record of negotiating with the VOA and local authorities. Commercially minded, analytical, and confident, you’ll be comfortable providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders.
