W Talent are currently partners with a professional property consultancy whom are looking at growing their Business Rates Team. The team had an extremely successful year last year and are looking at continuing with this moving forward. The role is for someone who is newly qualified up to 2 years of experience and commercially minded. This business are offering a great social working environment while also offering a professional clear direct pathway to promotions throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
Main Duties
- Manage and progress a varied Business Rates caseload, covering valuation, appeals, and advisory work under minimal supervision.
- Undertake inspections, measurement, and surveys of commercial properties across multiple sectors.
- Prepare and submit Proposals/Appeals and Check/Challenge/Appeal (CCA) cases, including reasoned valuation arguments.
- Analyse rental evidence, cost data, tone lists, and comparable assessments to support valuation strategy.
- Support senior colleagues on complex, high-profile, or portfolio-wide instructions, including large occupier portfolios.
- Attend and contribute to client meetings, providing clear and commercially focused advice.
- Liaise professionally with Assessors, the Valuation Office Agency, and Local Authority Rates Teams.
- Maintain high standards of file management, compliance, and documentation.
- Contribute to sector research, knowledge sharing, and the continuous development of internal databases.
- Collaborate with colleagues across advisory disciplines to deliver coordinated, client-focused solutions.
- Actively support and promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications & Experience

- Salary offering £52,000 - £62,000 depending upon experience
- MRICS qualified (or equivalent) with up to 12+ months post-qualification experience.
- Demonstrable track record in UK business rates advisory
- Proven expertise across multiple asset classes
- Strong experience in handling complex appeals and negotiations with the VOA.
