1.1 The Appointment
The college is seeking to employ a self-motivated individual who will take the lead on preparing and running a series of events, workshops and seminars for the local businesses of Mansfield and Ashfield.
In 2024 the college took over the running of the local business networking forum, the Mansfield and Ashfield Business Network (MABN), the post holder will be expected to take the lead, with the board, on the planning, promotion and running of networking events for this forum and will be expected to liaise with the college's business engagement team in the generation of new members and the promotion of events to members and the wider business community.
The postholder will be expected to work alongside the college’s business students, through its learning company, the Eventors, in the planning and coordination of a series of business focused workshops that will be offered as part of its new knowledge exchange centre in Mansfield.
We are looking for a proactive, organised individual to take on this new role, shape it and make it their own.

The Post
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To work with the MABN board and sub board and in particular the chair on planning and promoting, using various social media platforms, regular networking events aimed at the needs of the local business community.
- To develop an annual activity, promotional campaign plan and promotional content for MABN.
- To source and brief external speakers for MABN events, including high profile speakers.
- To attract sponsorship for MABN events where appropriate.
- To plan, organise and deliver an annual MABN business awards ceremony.
- To liaise with the PA to the Vice Principal and the finance team on the timely and accurate invoicing and ordering for MABN event costs, memberships, sponsorships, patronage amongst other things.
- To liaise with the Assistant Director of Future Ready on the maintenance of an accurate and up to date membership list.
- To develop and establish a Knowledge Exchange Hub to support local businesses to access information on support and growth.
- To organise and stage events for the Knowledge and Exchange Hub on a monthly basis.
- To work with Business curriculum students engaged in Learning Company activity to engage, coordinate and support them to organise events throughout the academic year.
- To work with colleagues in the employer engagement team and curriculum to promote employer engagement to further develop and strengthen the network.
- To work with local employers to create projects and live briefs to support Applied Business/Learning Company activity.

2.1 Other Responsibilities
- To uphold and promote company policies and procedures, promoting those specifically applicable to this area of work, including the Equality & Diversity and Health & Safety policies and procedures and attend training as requested.
- To comply with all college standards and expectations, including college learner procedures and practices and safeguarding policy and practices.
- To keep up to date, so far as necessary, for the efficient executing of the job, with new legislation, procedures and techniques and attend relevant mandatory training.
- To be conversant with and participate in activities and developments at college, regional and national level which are relevant to the post.
- To present and promote an appropriate public image in representing the college group and its subsidiaries.
- To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the post. This can include support within a residential setting outside of your normal working hours. It may also include supporting learners at weekends and during evening classes.
