We are seeking a passionate, relationship-driven fundraiser to inspire businesses throughout North Derbyshire to fundraise for Ashgate Hospice and offer advice and support.
As the first point of contact for staff-led fundraising, this role will proactively identify and engage workplace supporters, helping employees organise fundraising activities, volunteering opportunities and Charity of the Year partnerships that generate income and awareness for the hospice.
Working closely with the Partnerships Team, the Business Relationship Fundraiser will promote the full range of ways businesses can engage with Ashgate Hospice and become lasting and committed supporters, creating a seamless supporter experience through collaborative working.
Through excellent relationship building and stewardship including hospice tours and effective communication of the impact of their fundraising efforts, the postholder will maximise retention and meet and achieve financial objectives to help provide specialist care and support for people living with a life-limiting illness and their families across North Derbyshire.

This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who thrives on relationship building, creative thinking, and working collaboratively to make a meaningful difference.
Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week usually worked Monday to Friday, with the requirement for occasional evening and weekend work where time in lieu will be given.
Key responsibilities:
- Attend local networking events to spread awareness of Ashgate Hospice and engage businesses to fundraise for Ashgate Hospice
- Support Charity of the Year partnerships to maximise their fundraising
- Design and deliver effective donor journeys, including sincere, timely thanking and tailored engagement to encourage long-term support.
- Work collaboratively with the events team to secure corporate sponsors for events and promote hospice events to businesses, encouraging them to enter workplace teams in events like the Sparkle Night Walk and Skydives
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of charity legislation, and government initiatives relating to the nonprofit making sector and the Fundraising Codes of Practice

Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Knowledge of the Ashgate Hospice catchment area and business community of North Derbyshire
- Confidence in presenting and public speaking
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to interact confidently and professionally with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, building rapport, trust, and confidence
- A flexible approach to working, ability to work at events outside of normal working hours and across North Derbyshire (Time in Lieu offered)
