Join the Solihull Business Improvement District (BID) Team
Engage with stakeholders across the corporate and professional services sector (CPSS) as a part-time Business Relationship Lead.
Role Overview
This highly visible, relationship-focused role is the key link between Solihull BID and the CPSS. You will build strong business relationships, identify commercial and social opportunities, and help businesses maximize the services, projects, and benefits available through the BID.
Key Working Areas
Business Relationships
Build and maintain positive relationships across the CPSS, acting as the main BID contact and understanding businesses’ needs, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
Sector Networking Events
Work with the Events Manager to plan and deliver four CPSS networking events each year, creating opportunities for businesses to connect, collaborate, and build relationships.
BID Card Employee Benefits Scheme
Manage and grow the BID Card scheme by increasing business participation, encouraging new offers, and ensuring employees are aware of and engaged with available benefits.
Regular Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for the CPSS, building strong and lasting relationships.
- Visit businesses regularly, share BID updates, and identify areas where support may be needed.
- Promote BID services, including the BID Card, events, publications, and business opportunities.
- Encourage businesses to participate in BID projects, events, and initiatives.
- Create opportunities for businesses to connect, collaborate, and support one another.
- Maintain accurate business information using Microsoft Office and BID Base CRM.
- Identify emerging issues and opportunities and report these to the CEO and wider BID team.
- Represent Solihull BID at networking events, meetings, and business engagements.
- Support LinkedIn and social media activity with the PR and social media teams, showcasing the professional services sector and promoting the town center.
- Identify editorial and advertising opportunities for businesses within BID publications.
- Work collaboratively with the wider BID team to deliver a high-quality service.

About You
You will be confident, approachable, organized, and proactive, with a genuine enthusiasm for meeting people and developing business relationships.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in business liaison, customer service, account management, or a similar role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Confidence working independently, managing your workload, and using your initiative.
- The ability to build relationships with people at all levels.
- A positive, professional, and can-do attitude.
- An understanding of Solihull and its business community is advantageous but not essential.

The successful candidate will be a highly visible ambassador for Solihull BID, helping strengthen business relationships, increase engagement, and ensure the CPSS receives maximum value from BID membership.
Salary & Working Hours
Job Title: Business Relationship Lead – Corporate and Professional Services
Salary: £18,000 per annum (£30k FTE)
Working Hours: 22.5 hours per week, flexible days, 9am-5pm
The role includes a one-hour lunch break each full working day, of which 30 minutes is unpaid. Due to the nature of the role, occasional evening and weekend working may be required. Working hours may therefore vary from time to time to meet business requirements. Annual Leave: 21 days' annual leave per year, plus bank holidays. Pro Rata
