Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of 6 to 8 field-based Business Development Managers, building capability, engagement, succession plans and future sales leaders.
  • Deliver quarterly monthly recurring revenue targets by driving the acquisition and growth of Mid-Market customers across agreed sectors.
  • Strengthen pipeline generation, qualification, conversion and opportunity management, including active support on larger strategic deals and complex procurement journeys.
  • Own forecasting accuracy, pipeline coverage and sales governance through Salesforce, using performance insights to improve team effectiveness.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders and represent Sky Business in executive-level sales discussions.
  • Partner with Marketing, Commercial, Product, Presales, Delivery, Service and partner organisations to improve customer outcomes and maximise growth opportunities.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience leading a B2B field sales team.
  • A consistent track record of exceeding sales and revenue targets, both individually and through a team.
  • Experience in telecommunications, technology, connectivity or managed services.
  • Strong coaching and people development capability, including setting clear performance standards.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and engaging senior customer stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and experience using a CRM platform such as Salesforce.

Desirable Skills And Experience

  • Experience selling connectivity or voice solutions, including Ethernet, DIA, full fibre, broadband, SD-WAN, cloud voice, mobile or WiFi.
  • Strong forecasting, pipeline management and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Experience translating sales strategy into clear team priorities across sectors, funnel activity and strategic opportunities.
  • A customer-focused, resilient and results-oriented approach, with strong communication and presentation skills.

This is a field-based role supporting Mid-Market customers across the UK. The specific working pattern and travel expectations for the role will be discussed during the recruitment process.
