Description
As a Senior Client Portfolio Manager at Monahans, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, providing proactive accountancy, tax, and business advisory services that help businesses and individuals achieve their goals. Working closely with Partners and colleagues across the firm, you will build trusted client relationships, identify opportunities to add value, and ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
This is a senior client-facing role requiring strong commercial awareness, technical expertise, and leadership skills. You will act as the primary point of contact for your portfolio, overseeing compliance work while delivering strategic advice and supporting the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accountancy, tax, and business advisory services.
- Build trusted client relationships and act as the primary point of contact, providing proactive commercial advice.
- Review accounts, tax returns, and compliance work, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Identify opportunities to add value through advisory services, tax planning, and business development.
- Lead, coach, and support junior team members, promoting their technical and professional development.
- Manage workflows, deadlines, and client expectations while maintaining exceptional standards of service.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
- Proven experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts, tax, and UK compliance requirements.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to identify advisory opportunities.
- Strong organisational, leadership, and coaching skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and develop team members.
