The Business Solutions Manager – Product Management will lead the development and adoption of Product Management capability across Arch International, while operating as a senior member of the Business Solutions team.
The role is responsible for translating strategic priorities into clear product strategies, roadmaps, prioritized initiatives, and measurable business outcomes. It will help establish consistent standards, governance, and ways of working, including the development of a Product Management Centre of Excellence. The role will also contribute to the wider Business Solutions agenda, providing flexible leadership across strategy, transformation, process, operating model, technology, data, and organizational priorities as required.
The role works closely with Strategic Operations Managers, Product Owners, Technology, Data & Analytics, Process & Operational Excellence teams, and senior business leaders to improve prioritization, delivery readiness, governance, and value realization.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management Leadership and Centre of Excellence
- Establish and maintain the Product Management Centre of Excellence.
- Define common standards, templates, and ways of working for product strategy, product vision, roadmaps, prioritization, demand management, OKRs, product lifecycle management, and benefits realization.
- Build Product Management capability across Strategic Operations Managers, Product Owners, and Business Solutions colleagues.
- Lead communities of practice and knowledge-sharing forums to support consistent adoption of Product Management practices.
- Act as a trusted advisor on Product Management principles, governance, and operating models.
Product Strategy, Portfolio Governance, and Roadmap Oversight
- Translate strategic objectives into product strategies, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
- Support the development of product visions, target outcomes, and value measures.
- Facilitate prioritization discussions across competing business demands.
- Ensure product investments align with business strategy, customer outcomes, and organizational objectives.
- Maintain visibility of cross-product dependencies, risks, and trade-offs.
- Support portfolio governance, investment decisions, and business case development.
- Monitor portfolio performance and value realization.
IT Alignment and Product Governance
- Act as the Business Solutions lead for Product Management alignment with IT.
- Promote a clear understanding of Product Manager, Product Owner, and business stakeholder responsibilities.
- Support adoption of product-focused planning and governance approaches under the IT framework.
- Ensure demand management and prioritization practices align with organizational governance expectations.
- Improve consistency between strategic planning, product management, and delivery execution.
- Recommend improvements to operating model effectiveness and role clarity.

Strategic Business Solutions Partnership
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
- Partner with business leaders to understand strategic priorities, challenges, and opportunities.
- Provide constructive challenge, insight, and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Support business transformation, operating model development, and strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across business, operations, technology, finance, data, and analytics teams.
- Provide flexible support across business portfolios and domains when required.
Initiative Shaping, Demand Management, and Delivery Readiness
- Shape demand before commitment to delivery.
- Facilitate problem definition, opportunity assessment, and option analysis.
- Establish clear ownership, value measures, benefits, and success criteria.
- Assess strategic fit, delivery readiness, implementation considerations, risks, and dependencies.
- Support effective transition from strategy and planning into delivery.
Value Realisation and Continuous Improvement
- Define value frameworks and outcome measures.
- Monitor and report on business value delivered through strategic initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process simplification and continuous improvement.
- Promote evidence-based decision-making.
- Support lessons learned and capability development across Business Solutions.
Business Solutions Team Leadership and Contribution
- Support Business Solutions strategy, planning, and capability development.
- Contribute to team methodologies, standards, and governance.
- Coach and mentor colleagues where appropriate.
- Promote collaboration across Business Solutions portfolios.
- Support achievement of Business Solutions objectives and OKRs.
- Provide resilience and flexibility across domains and portfolios as business needs evolve.
Essential
Experience and Qualifications
- Significant experience in Product Management, Strategic Operations, Business Transformation, Portfolio Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience developing product strategies, roadmaps, and prioritization frameworks.
- Strong understanding of Product Management operating models, governance, and value management.
- Experience influencing senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Experience operating within a complex, matrixed organization.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution.

Desirable
- Experience establishing or contributing to a Product Management Centre of Excellence.
- Experience with agile, SAFe, or similar enterprise delivery frameworks.
- London Market insurance experience.
- Experience across underwriting, claims, operations, finance, or corporate functions.
- Exposure to data, analytics, AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience with OKRs, value management, or benefits realization frameworks.
