Are you an organised individual with excellent attention to detail and looking for a rewarding administrative role within Children's Services at West Berkshire Council? We are seeking a Business Support Administrator to provide essential business support to our front line social work teams, reporting to the Business Support Officer, to ensure the smooth operation of our service.

The Role

As a Business Support Administrator, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Dealing with enquiries from customers, colleagues, and external stakeholders, providing appropriate information and assistance.
  • Taking minutes of sensitive meetings, typing up within timescales and circulating to attendees.
  • Maintaining accurate records and databases, including data entry and information retrieval.
  • Providing administrative support to social workers and managers such as scheduling meetings, arranging appointments, and preparing documents.
  • Supporting the Business Support Officer with various tasks to ensure effective service delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive approach to work.

You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 28 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service.
