Business Support Administrator (Fixed-Term Contract)
Salary: £25, 877.80 per annum
Location: Bedford
Hours: Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern
Shift Pattern
- 7:30am to 3:30pm (7:30am to 3:00pm on Fridays)
- 9:00am to 5:00pm (9:00am to 4:30pm on Fridays)
As part of providing office cover throughout the working day, you'll be required to work both shifts above on a rota basis.
Are you an organised, customer-focused professional who enjoys supporting colleagues and creating a positive workplace experience? We're looking for a proactive Business Support Administrator to join our team and play a key role in keeping our office and business support services running smoothly.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll provide business and facilities support across the organisation, helping to deliver an excellent service to colleagues, visitors and customers.
As a Business Support Administrator, You Will Be
- Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, colleagues and deliveries attending the office.
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring it is processed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Preparing meeting rooms and ensuring office facilities, kitchen areas and refreshments are maintained to a high standard.
- Responding to business support and facilities requests, helping to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- Supporting central purchasing activities, including raising purchase orders, processing invoices, liaising with suppliers and maintaining stock levels of office supplies.
- Maintaining accurate document management and archiving records, including supporting Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide an efficient and customer-focused service across the business.

What We’re Looking For
- A strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively and supporting colleagues to achieve shared goals.
- Customer focused, with a commitment to delivering an exceptional service experience.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
- Adaptable and flexible, with a positive can-do attitude and willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities.
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Comfortable working independently while also contributing as part of a wider team.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications and other IT systems.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above), or equivalent.
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to take on a variety of tasks—including some lifting and moving of office equipment.
- Previous experience in a customer-focused office support or administrative role.
- Experience of working within a team environment to achieve shared objectives.
Working Arrangements
This role is primarily office-based due to the nature of the service provided. Following successful completion of probation, there may be opportunities for some home working; however, this will always be dependent on service requirements and business needs.
