Your role at BRE

As our Business Support Administrator, you'll provide operational, administrative and coordination support across the FDET team. Working within an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory environment, you'll help maintain the records, systems and processes that support laboratory compliance, project delivery and day-to-day operations.

You'll work closely with laboratory management, technical staff and wider business stakeholders, helping to coordinate activities, manage documentation, support project administration and contribute to the efficient running of the department.

This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to gain exposure to laboratory operations, quality management systems, project administration and business support activities, with full training provided where required.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day administration and operation of the FDET laboratory.
  • Coordinate laboratory schedules, project tracking and resource planning activities.
  • Prepare quotations and assist with project administration and reporting.
  • Support forecasting, revenue tracking and other financial administrative activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation and filing systems.
  • Assist with document control processes and support internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate equipment calibration records, maintenance schedules and supplier activities.
  • Manage stock, consumables, purchasing requests and orders.
  • Maintain training records, competency matrices and departmental documentation.
  • Support health and safety activities, meetings and action tracking.
  • Organise meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes and monitor follow-up actions.
  • Manage enquiries, correspondence, travel arrangements and other administrative requests.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and external partners.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
