The Role
As a Business Support Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of Portsdown Technology Park, delivering professional administration, visitor management and customer service support to QinetiQ employees, tenants, embedded customers and visitors. Your contribution will help ensure a secure, efficient and welcoming environment across the site.
Day-to-day, you'll provide business and administration support across site operations, coordinating visitor activities, supporting meetings and events, maintaining records and ensuring site processes are delivered effectively and professionally.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing reception and visitor management services for internal and external customers
- Coordinating visitor bookings, group visits and events in line with security, safety and site procedures
- Managing telephone enquiries and accurately recording and relaying messages
- Supporting the booking of meeting rooms, catering and resources for meetings and events
- Maintaining records, databases and administrative documentation to support site operations
- Supporting procurement, mail handling and continuous improvement activities across the site
Essential experience of the Business Support Administrator:
- Experience in a customer-facing role or business administration environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Word, Teams and Outlook
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and work flexibly
- Ability to work within defined procedures with limited supervision and guidance
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent customer service

Essential qualifications for the Business Support Administrator:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Business Administration or Customer Service
- Demonstrable equivalent experience will also be considered

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Portsdown Technology Park site. This is a full-time onsite position working Monday to Friday.
Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP)
Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQ's key facilities, focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services. It is dedicated to research and development, ensuring that complex systems are designed, integrated, and tested effectively to meet operational requirements. The facility utilises sophisticated modelling and simulation techniques to analyse and predict performance.
Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
