Ian Williams has an exciting opportunity for a customer focused Business Support Assistant (12-month FTC) to join our thriving team in Bristol.

Our Business Support team provides a full and comprehensive administrative support service, to the local business units to ensure that these contracts are delivered effectively and efficiently. Business Support are integral to the operational team’s successful delivery of our services to our clients.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys being organised and proactive, and values being a crucial part of a team’s success.

The Business Support Assistant Role

You will provide full administrative support to ensure the effective delivery of our key Capital (planned refurbishment) and Painting contracts within the local and wider area. You value first class customer service and enjoy facilitating strong working relationships within your immediate and wider teams, internally and externally to ensure the continued success of Ian Williams.

You will be carrying out a wide range of scheduled and reactive administrative tasks including data input, timesheet and wages processing ready for payroll runs, invoicing, telephone liaison with customers, letter writing and managing multiple inboxes. You will also be responsible for supporting the procurement of materials for the business units, processing purchase order numbers, ordering materials, taking queries from the Operatives, Contracts Managers and the client/customer seeing this through to completion/resolution. In addition to all the above, you will also provide reception and room booking services as well as be involved with weekly operational team meetings, as required.

What will I bring to the Business Support Administrator role?

  • Education to GCSE level or equivalent (to include Maths and English)
  • You’ll have a proactive and adaptable approach to work; we’re not looking for the finished article, and someone with lots of experience, but welcome and encourage anyone with the right willingness and drive to learn, to apply.
  • Excellent IT skills MS Office, Outlook, and Excel (basic level),
  • A pro-active and can-do attitude for a fast-paced, reactive office environment is a real must
