Summary

We are looking for a Business Support Apprentice to join our team and develop a broad range of business administration, coordination and communication skills while supporting colleagues. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, enthusiastic and eager to learn within a growing international business.

Wage

  • £15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
  • National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices
  • Regular performance reviews and annual appraisals linked to salary increase.

Training

  • Business administrator (level 3)
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm
  • 37 hours 30 minutes a week
  • Start date: Monday 26 October 2026
  • Duration: 1 year 4 months
  • Positions available: 1

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As a Business Support Apprentice, you will gain valuable experience across multiple areas of the business, working closely with teams and senior stakeholders to help keep our operations running smoothly. No two days will be the same, developing valuable skills and experience that will support your future career and professional growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning & delivery of customer and employee events
  • Assisting with company communications, newsletters and social media activity
  • Providing administration support for meetings, senior leaders and business projects
  • Maintaining records, updating systems and carrying out general business administration tasks
  • Coordinating travel, accommodation and related documentations for internal stakeholders

What you'll learn

Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to:

  • write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages.
  • Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem.
  • Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.

Produces accurate records and documents including:

  • emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals.
  • Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management.
  • Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work.
  • Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures.
  • Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.

Training schedule

  • Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship
  • Standard English and maths Functional Skills (if applicable)
  • Minimum of 6 hours off-the-job training per week at employer premises
  • One day per month training at Protocol Consultancy Services in Birmingham City Centre

More training information

Training will be delivered by Protocol Consultancy Services, an Ofsted-rated (Exceptional) training provider based in Birmingham city centre. Apprentices will receive a combination of monthly training sessions at our Birmingham training centre, workplace-based learning, online support and regular progress reviews with a dedicated Training Adviser. On-site assessment and support will also be provided throughout the apprenticeship. Metro (Employer) also provide Training & development - grow with us, every step of the way.
