Business Support Apprentice

Plymouth City Council is looking for an individual to join our Business Support team as an apprentice, offering an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience while working towards a recognised Level 3 qualification.

We are looking for an individual who is keen to learn, takes a professional approach to their work, and is comfortable engaging with customers in a face-to-face setting.

If you are looking for a role where you can make a meaningful contribution to local communities, we would welcome your application.

About The Role

This role provides a varied and rewarding experience, combining office-based administrative support within Legal Services as well as direct engagement with members of the public supporting Business Support. You will contribute to the efficient running of the services by undertaking a range of administrative tasks, alongside supporting customers with queries, including Blue Badge applications.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will complete a L3 Business Administrator apprenticeship with The Focus Training Group.

Full on-the-job training will be provided, along with ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship to help you build valuable knowledge, skills, behaviours and experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
