About The Opportunity

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Business Support Assistant to provide efficient and effective administrative support within the Northern Service Delivery Group.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will support Managers across the Service Delivery Group, provide a professional front-of-house service at stations, and help ensure the smooth running of community facilities and station operations. You will play a key role in supporting projects, maintaining records, and delivering high-quality customer service to both internal colleagues and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Provide administrative support including diary management, email and telephone handling, greeting visitors, and minute-taking
  • Collate and produce statistical information for management and facilities teams
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels, place orders, and manage goods received via electronic systems
  • Support and administer Service Delivery Group projects and events
  • Develop positive working relationships with community facility users and Trusted Partners
  • Coordinate and support building maintenance activities, liaising with contractors and facilities management providers
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Service policies
  • Deputise at meetings in the absence of the Business Support Manager
  • Assist personnel with research and information gathering for projects

About You

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ comprehensive experience in administrative and clerical systems
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to seek solutions to problems
  • Ability to accurately record minutes and action points
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic management systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and positive approach
  • Resilient and able to work independently under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexible approach and willingness to travel to any station within the Service Delivery Group
  • Current full driving licence

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of manual handling requirements
  • Experience working within a customer service-focused environment

Hours and Working Pattern

  • Core hours: Monday–Friday, 37 hours per week
