Business Support Assistant - 12 Month Contract

📍 Portsmouth
💰 £20.00 per hour Umbrella / £14.95 per hour PAYE

Belcan Workforce Solutions is seeking a highly organised Business Support Assistant to join a busy Products & Solutions Development team based in Portsmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or business support professional looking to work within a fast-paced engineering environment. You'll provide vital coordination and administrative support to the Head of Products & Solutions Development and the wider team, helping to ensure the smooth running of departmental activities and key business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Head of Products & Solutions Development and wider department.
  • Manage diaries, coordinate meetings and schedule appointments.
  • Arrange travel, accommodation and meeting logistics.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, meeting packs and business correspondence.
  • Track actions arising from meetings and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Support departmental reporting and collate information from multiple stakeholders.
  • Process expenses, purchase orders and other business administration tasks.
  • Coordinate internal and external visits, events and team activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation and filing systems.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

About You

  • Previous experience in a Business Support Assistant, Team Assistant, Senior Administrator or similar position.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Confident working independently and proactively managing workloads.
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Experience supporting managers or departmental teams within engineering, manufacturing, defence, aerospace or technical environments would be advantageous.
