Business Support Manager

Eligibility

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare. Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a Business Support Manager to provide senior administrative leadership across our Community Hospitals. This is a key role for an experienced, confident and highly organised professional who can lead people, streamline systems and support high‑quality patient care.

As Business Support Manager, you will provide Personal Assistant support to the Assistant Director for Community Hospitals while also offering operational leadership to the wider administrative workforce. You will oversee, coordinate and develop administrative services to ensure they are efficient, responsive and fully aligned with clinical delivery.

You will act as a trusted senior administrative lead, the overall manager for all Community Hospital admin staff, and a key contributor to business planning, governance, workforce development and service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop admin processes: Implement and improve administrative systems
  • Task coordination: Allocate tasks and manage reporting and meeting schedules
  • Procedure development: Create procedures, guidelines and support project delivery
  • Data reporting: Produce reports and KPI insights using Power BI and RIO
  • Audit and research support: Assist managers with data collection and review
  • Budget reporting: Manage establishments, reports and virement logging
  • Project management: Lead cost improvement plans, business plans and action plans
  • Business continuity: Maintain and update continuity plans
  • Efficiency improvements: Centralise business functions where appropriate
  • Ad hoc admin support: Provide flexible support to senior management
  • Activity monitoring: Review activity data and follow up with Team Leads
  • Automation development: Support implementation of automation initiatives
