Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Business Support Manager for as soon as possible for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £28.68/hour PAYE. This role will be hybrid working.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert knowledge of contractor and vendor management processes.
- Agree objectives with Head of Digital Governance and other relevant stakeholders, then plan and implement these objectives, monitoring progress to ensure that objectives are achieved.
- Line manager to the Business Support Administrator post.
- Monitor and manage all contracts to meet compliance objectives.
- Responsible for policy implementation, service and organisational development and training in relation to contract and business support management.
- Responsible for the financial management of all contracts to ensure financial and performance targets are met.
- To monitor the performance of suppliers in relation to key performance indicators and delivery of services and change. Proactively engage with IT management team to obtain regular feedback from users of the services, and work with suppliers on continual service improvement plans based on feedback and demand.
- As part of the performance monitoring function you will undertake performance benchmarking and will work with all parties to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with senior management to ensure that all the IT service management relationships required between suppliers of core systems and the organisation are clearly defined and allocated. Monitor and develop these relationships to ensure they remain effective and compliant to ITIL principles.
- Investigates and resolves complex issues/problems regarding breaches of security or confidentiality, particularly in relation to contract management and data protection.
- Work with senior management to manage and progress contract procurement and renewal. Take a strategic approach to this to ensure that our procuring services takes best advantage of market capability, driving improvement in efficiency and obtaining best value for money.
- Reviewing pricing against contract and where appropriate ensuring that costs incurred by the organisation reflect the service received during Service Review Meetings with suppliers.
- Maintain a register of all contracts and plan the review of contracts and supporting agreements in line with their renewal dates.
- Any other duties as required.

Essential Skills
- Educated to Degree level or be able to demonstrate extensive experience in an IT or Procurement related area.
- Completed or working towards completion of a relevant Post Graduate Degree.
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in a relevant IT or Health service area, including study days/courses/post graduate qualification. ITIL trained at Practitioner Level and ability to demonstrate experience in service management best practices.
- To have accomplished recognised accredited training within Information Governance
- Significant experience with contract and vendor management.
- Experience working in a similar environment.
- Experience working in a management position.
- Ability to demonstrate prior knowledge of contract and vendor management.
- Excellent Knowledge required of the Data Protection & IT Security issues.
- High level of knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft 365.
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in use of electronic systems. Excellent communication skills and experience interacting with external organisations.
- Possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative. Prior and significant experience working within a complex environment which includes working to legislative time scales and highly sensitive issues.
- Well-organised and able to work under pressure delivering high quality in constrained timescales.
