Role Overview

This is a high-profile role sitting at the center of the Communications, Marketing and Corporate Affairs function, acting as a trusted partner to the CCO and ensuring priorities, governance, and operational activities run smoothly.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have progressed from a senior Executive Assistant or Executive Business Partner background into a broader business management, operations, or chief of staff style role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive support to the Chief Communications Officer, ensuring priorities, actions, and decisions are effectively managed.
  • Prepare high-quality briefings, presentations, reports, and stakeholder communications.
  • Support planning, governance, and reporting activities across the function.
  • Line manage the CCO's Executive Assistant and help maintain a high-quality support model.
  • Coordinate operational processes including budgets, approvals, sponsorships, and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, governance, and ways of working.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to ensure effective delivery of key initiatives.

About You

  • 5+ years' experience supporting senior leaders at Executive or C Suite level.
  • Experience in a Business Manager, Executive Business Partner, Senior Executive Assistant, or similar role.
  • Excellent written communication and drafting skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience supporting governance, planning, reporting, or committee processes.
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and handling sensitive information.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and SharePoint skills.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting Communications, Marketing, or Corporate Affairs functions.
  • Experience managing or overseeing Executive Assistants within a shared support model.
  • Background within life sciences, research, healthcare, charity, or other knowledge-led environments.
  • Degree educated or equivalent experience.
