Business Support Manager, Economic Crime Prevention (ECP)

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business Support Manager.

Economic Crime Prevention (ECP) focuses on the specific financial threats the firm faces now and, in the future, pioneering the techniques and technology that protect our business, our customers, and the many communities in which we operate, from the harms associated with fraud and financial crime. ECP harnesses intelligence, analytics, technology, investigation, information sharing, and public-private partnership to achieve this end, always seeking the most effective and efficient means.

The Business Support Manager for ECP will assist and take ownership of business activities supporting the UK Head of ECP and Senior Governance and Interlock Manager with the overall management of the ECP function, including but not limited to; Annual Operating Plan (AOP), budgeting, cost management, people management plans, organizational design, business continuity planning and stakeholder/team communications.

The role holder is integral to driving operational excellence, cost efficiency, and workforce strategy. The role is key in ensuring ECP meet its responsibilities/ targets and for coordinating with the ECP Senior leadership team, to drive forward the ECP strategy.

This role will report to the ECP Senior Governance and Interlock Manager.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in business planning activities which will include financial, technological and resource planning
  • Responsible for accurate and timely cost/ FTE reporting, forecasting and budgeting, making sure any issues/ concerns are flagged to the leadership team, so resources are aligned to the strategic plan and are managed effectively
  • Contribute to senior management decision making by use of management information, performance information, analytics, forums and stakeholder feedback
  • Support the development and execution of workforce strategy, ensuring the right skills, capacity and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Oversee and manage recruitment activity and resource strategy engagement
  • Support in forums and committees as required to represent view of business area
  • Discharge duties of Business Continuity Coordinator for ECP, providing management support to all Business Continuity initiatives ensuring plans are adequately maintained, including submission of annual certification is completed
  • Support ECP leaders with Interpreting and embedding Group-wide policies, ensuring compliance and assurance

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong business acumen and analytical rigour; able to influence diverse stakeholders. Must have a proactive approach.
  • Proven Business Administration/Operational Management experience.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills; able to produce clear papers and presentations for matrix audiences.
  • AOP planning/monitoring experience for a large function (preferred).
  • Strong financial and data analysis capability for planning, forecasting and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Business Continuity Planning and recruitment processes (preferred).
  • Able to manage competing priorities, anticipate emerging demands, and build trusted relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholder.
