3 Months Contract with a Local Authority
Umbrella - £17.10 per hour - Umbrella
Job Purpose
As a Business Support Officer, you will provide administrative, financial, and operational support to Waste Management and Street Cleansing services, helping managers and supervisors ensure the efficient delivery of frontline services.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Provide administrative support to managers and operational teams.
- Act as a central point of contact for enquiries, service requests, and FOI requests.
- Allocate and monitor work requests to operational teams.
- Record and verify agency workforce claims.
- Gather, analyse, and report performance data.
- Maintain expenditure and income records and support reconciliation processes.
- Process payments, orders, and charging systems.
- Assist with procurement, stock control, and equipment records.
- Support contract administration and tender preparation.
- Record and manage customer enquiries and complaints.
- Maintain PPE and operational records.
- Monitor service performance and escalation processes.
- Support the development of online and electronic service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures.

Essential Experience Required
- Previous Business Support, Administration, or Office Support experience.
- Experience dealing with customer enquiries and complaints.
- Experience maintaining records and databases.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and data systems.
- Good organisational and workload management skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience handling financial records, payments, or account reconciliation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience within Waste Management, Street Cleansing, or Local Government is desirable.

- Working Hours: 37 hours per week.
- Newport, NP19 0ES.
- On-site Interview.
