A Great Opportunity for a Business Support Officer to join Children Social Care Services

Brent is one of the most diverse boroughs in the country, with communities, ideas and experiences from across the world helping to shape who we are. Working here means joining a council that is focused on fairness, open to new thinking and committed to improving life for local people. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

Our values shape how we work and what people can expect from us. We collaborate proactively, lead inclusively, embrace change, are bold and curious, and celebrate and share our success. About the Role

Join our Business Support Team and play a vital role in helping services across Children, Young People and Community Development operate effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and customer-focused professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, supporting colleagues, managing key administrative processes and helping to deliver high-quality services for children, young people and families. Be part of a supportive and collaborative team that values continuous improvement, innovation and sharing best practice.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a first point of contact for the service, handling enquiries, correspondence, calls and emails professionally and efficiently
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including arranging meetings, preparing documentation and taking accurate minutes
  • Manage a range of financial processes, such as raising purchase orders, processing invoices and supporting payment administration
  • Maintain accurate records, databases and spreadsheets, producing reports and supporting statutory returns where required
  • Work closely with colleagues, partners and external providers to resolve queries, improve processes and ensure services run smoothly

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
