About The Post

Barnsley Council is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly organised Business Support Officer to join the Hospital Social Work and Reablement Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide a comprehensive business support service to two busy Adult Social Care teams that support people through hospital discharge, recovery and reablement. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the service by providing high-quality administrative support to managers and practitioners.

Key Duties

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support across the Hospital Social Work and Reablement Teams.
  • Organising and supporting a range of meetings, including taking accurate minutes and producing action notes.
  • Processing referrals, requests for service and associated documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating electronic systems in accordance with information governance requirements.
  • Preparing reports, correspondence and other service documentation.
  • Liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery.
  • Undertaking a variety of general administrative duties whilst managing competing priorities and deadlines.

About You

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Has experience of working within a business support or administrative environment.
  • Has experience of servicing meetings and producing accurate minutes.
  • Possesses excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Is able to work with highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Has good IT skills, including experience of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Can work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team.
