Housing Repairs Administrator (6-Month Temporary Contract)

Duration: 6 Months (Temporary)
Location: Loughborough (Agile Working – Home & Office Based)

Job Purpose

To administer and progress damp, mould, and disrepair cases within Council-owned housing stock, ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard. The role supports improving living conditions for tenants while assisting in the effective management and defence of disrepair claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer systems and processes to record, track, action, and resolve damp, mould, and disrepair cases.
  • Raise repair orders, book appointments, and process invoices using internal software systems.
  • Work closely with colleagues, contractors, on-site technical officers, and legal services to progress cases.
  • Support initiatives aimed at preventing damp, mould, and disrepair within housing stock.
  • Assist with the effective management and monitoring of contracts.
  • Gather, analyse, and input data accurately, producing performance and management reports.
  • Communicate with customers, colleagues, and contractors via phone and email.
  • Respond to customer queries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Deliver services fairly, consistently, and without discrimination.
  • Ensure all information is handled securely and report any data breaches in line with Council policies.
  • Carry out any additional duties appropriate to the role as required.

Experience Required

  • Experience working in a customer-focused or administrative role.
  • Experience using multiple software systems to manage data, raise orders, and track progress.
  • Experience handling repairs, housing, or property-related administration (desirable).
  • Proven ability to input data accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage workload independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident in handling customer interactions and resolving issues.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office and other relevant systems.

Additional Information

  • 6-month temporary contract.
  • Pay is provided on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Agile working policy (combination of home and office-based working in Loughborough).
  • Must be flexible and responsive to changing workloads and priorities.
