What’s the role?
Lewisham Council is seeking a Business Support Officer to join our Law and Corporate Governance Division.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality administrative and business support across a range of services within the division, including emergency planning, governance and scrutiny services, information security, legal and electoral services.
You'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the teams, helping to coordinate meetings, maintain records, manage correspondence, process financial transactions and provide excellent customer service to colleagues, councillors, partners and members of the public.

What we’re looking for
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Can manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Has strong attention to detail and produces work of a consistently high standard.
- Communicates effectively with a wide range of people.
- Is confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
- Takes a proactive and problem-solving approach to work.

Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
Occasional travel to other Council premises and locations in the borough will be required.
Special conditions
- This is a part time post, working 21 hours a week. The successful candidate will be required to work on a Friday morning, however the remaining working pattern is open for discussion and can be agreed on appointment.

Salary
£32,442-£33,384 (SC4) pro rata, equating to £19,465- £20,030 for 21 hours per week
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
