Business Support Officer

Location: Chatham and Hybrid

Contract: Initial 3-Month Temporary Assignment, with potential extension

Rate: £200 per day

About the Role

Our Client is seeking an experienced Business Support Officer to join their Education and SEND team on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and customer-focused administrator to play a key role in supporting the delivery of essential services for children, families, and education professionals.

Working as part of the Hub Inclusion Team, you will provide comprehensive administrative support, ensuring the smooth coordination of meetings, case information, records, and communications. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage sensitive information professionally and confidentially.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive administrative support across a range of Education and SEND activities.
  • Act as the first point of contact, delivering a high standard of customer service.
  • Respond promptly to enquiries via telephone and email.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and administrative systems.
  • Coordinate diaries, appointments, and scheduling activities.
  • Organise meetings, training sessions, and events from planning through to completion.
  • Take accurate minutes and provide administrative support for partnership and SEND meetings.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, statutory returns, and other documentation.
  • Maintain accurate SEND and pupil-related information in line with organisational requirements.
  • Keep stakeholders informed through clear and timely communication.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information professionally.
  • Gather feedback and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Previous experience in a Business Support, Administrator, or similar office-based role.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Experience managing databases, records, and confidential information.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications and administrative systems.
  • Experience supporting meetings, including minute taking.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
